Collaborative creature.
Collaborative Creature
Last week on Monday we made a collaborative creature during Cybersmart. So first I drew an elephant's face. Then I had to swap my animal head with some one else to draw a body. I drew a bumble bee body on Nikita's head. Next we gave it to the last person and they had to draw the tail of an animal. At the end we gave them back to the person that drew the head. I named my creature Ele-fly-ish.

Planting our class vegetables
Last Friday Room 6 went to the garden to plant our veggies. I had silverbeet to plant. I was excited because I love to plant things outside. First we had to dig up the soil because it was still hard. Then Erich and I had to tap carefully on the bottom of the silverbeet container so we could get them out.
Then we dug little holes in the soil so that the plant could fit in easily. We pushed them carefully into the ground and put the soil around it.
It is good for us to grow vegetables because they are healthy to eat and they can save you money at the supermarket. Also it is fresh and good to eat.

saving money
Nicky's visit to Saint Patrick's
A visitor came to our class today and her name was Nicky. She works for the ABS bank. She asked us to tell her what our dreams were and mine was to be an artist and a singer. She said we can be what we want to be if we start saving now.
We need to put money in the bank because we can earn interest which is more money. The bank can keep your money safe.
She told us a story about a boy who lived in a poor place. He wanted to go on a field trip but it cost money. So he went to ten neighbors and he took out their trash bins every Tuesday for a month. They paid him $5 each Tuesday. In a month he got $200 to go on his trip.

Catholic school's Day
On Tuesday, the 28 of May it was Catholic Schools' Day. St Pius X wore red uniforms and St lgnatius wore blue uniforms. They came to our school in buses. St lgnatius and St Pius were gathered under the canopy. We were going up to the church with the other schools. Church started and near the end children from St Pius did a Liturgical dance.

I show Tika, Pono and Aroha
We have been learning about how Jesus respected the tapu (sacredness) of people. Jesus was walking home to Galilee and then he saw a Samaritan woman. Jesus knew he shouldn't talk to her because Jews weren't allowed to talk to Samaritans, but he did. He also healed the man with leprosy who wasn't allowed to be near people. He shows us that we need to treat people with Tika, Pono and Aroha.
Tika means to do the right thing. I do the right thing by not being in people's fights but trying to help them make peace.

St Patricks day
20/4/19
On Monday the 18th the whole school went to Mass because we were celebrating St Patrick's Day. St Patrick is a saint. Father Andrew was preaching about why we celebrate St Patrick's Day and that this day is really important to us. Then church ended and we walked back to school for Jump Jam.

After morning tea, everyone had to meet under the canopy because Mrs Bullot, the principal had to call out the team members and team leaders. We all had Irish names. Then we went to our first activity. I was very excited because we were going to room 8.
It was a very fun activity but we didn't have enough time because Mrs. Bullot rang the bell and that meant we had to go to the next station on the list (we only had 10 minutes before Mrs Bullot rang the big bell.) I liked Mrs George's game because I liked throwing the boots as far as I could. I loved playing that game.
After all of the activities I was happy because we had all had fun. I was tired at the same time. For an award, the whole school got a lemonade ice block.
Monday was a very special day for us because of St Patrick. I can't wait to do it again next year.
